The Hotel Alarun hygiene concept
Unfortunately, we currently have an uninvited guest in our middle – the coronavirus or SARS-CoV-2
It checked in as an uncontrolled walk-in and we don‘t know when it will decide to check out again – and on top of that it will dine and dash!
Not a great perspective...
But busting our heads in the sand cannot be an option!
Corona/ COVID 19 – what is that?
Covid 19 (Corona Virus Disease 19) is an infectious respiratory disease triggered by the coronavirus.
It was first described in Wuhan, China, in December 2019, developed into an epidemic in that region during January 2020 and the went on to spread into a worldwide pandemic.
The coronavirus itself is a so-called enveloped virus, meaning that the virus is surrounded by a fat layer. The virus is not an independent animate being but a kind of programme which invades and re-programmes cells and thereby reproduces.

Why are distance, systematic cleaning and regular airing so important?
- The virus is enveloped by a fat layer. When this is destroyed, the virus is killed.
- The virus is transmitted by body fluids and enter the body via the mucous membranes of eyes, mouth and nose. So: wash your hands regularly und avoid touching your face.
- The virus can also be transmitted by very fine droplets that are produced when talking, sneezing or coughing and can contaminates the air for a certain period. Regular airing of rooms, physical distance and wearing of masks can help avoid an infection via this aerosol.
